HYBE launches surprise audit, including CEO Min Hee-jin

Hybe has begun an audit of the management of Adore, a label affiliated with K-pop's leading girl group New Jeans.

Hybe believed that Adore CEO Min Hee-jin and others were trying to become independent from the headquarters and began collecting related evidence.

It is reported that personnel from the audit team visited Adore's management work area, retrieved the company's computer assets, and began securing face-to-face statements.

A HYBE official said, “It is true that the right to audit has been activated against Adore executives due to suspicions of an attempt to take over management rights (of Adore).”

Hybe is known to suspect that Mr. A and others are attempting to take control of the company and act independently.

Adore is a label under HYBE founded by CEO Min in 2021, and HYBE has an 80% stake. The remaining 20% is held by Adore executives, including CEO Min. It is reported that HYBE plans to analyze the computer assets secured on this day and take legal action if necessary based on this.

CEO Min Hee-jin is a star producer who has earned a reputation in the music industry for her unique color and expression by taking charge of the concepts and brands of famous idol groups such as Girls' Generation, SHINee, and EXO at SM Entertainment in the past.

The girl group New Jeans, who debuted under the leadership of CEO Min, appeared in 2022 and released a series of hit songs such as 'Hype Boy', 'Attention', 'Ditto', and 'OMG'. It has emerged as the ‘hot potato’ in the K-pop market.

In addition to these achievements, CEO Min has received awards such as the Seoul City Cultural Award, the Golden Disc Producer Award, and the 2023 Billboard Women in Music (WOMEN IN MUSIC).

THE COMMENTS:

  1. Is Mr. A Min Hee-jin?
  2. Is it similar to Fifty Fifty?
  3. Why couldn't they just become independent normally? Why did they have to do something like this?
  4. Min Hee-jin is such a badass hahaha.
I felt it in an interview, but she seems to think that even if HYBE didn't have money, she would have succeeded anyway thanks to her.
  5. But all that capital comes from HYBE, right? Even the recruitment of members is done by HYBE. I mean, a significant part of NewJeans' success is thanks to HYBE.
  6. But didn't they pull Minji and Hanni straight from Source Music?
  7. 🍿
  8. Wow, if that's true, HYBE might've nearly gotten double-crossed!
  9. They took members from Source Music, and the capital is all from HYBE, yet they're acting like this?
  10. Bang Si-hyuk has the largest share in ADOR, and even if Min Hee-jin wants to sell her shares, she should only be able to sell them to HYBE. How is this kind of thing even possible?
  11. HYBE owns 80% of it, though! Like, what?
  12. Min Hee-jin is just another employee—if HYBE says to leave, she's out. Honestly, I'd be glad if HYBE just kicked her out.
  13. Hive stocks are flowing γ…γ…Š
  14. Even if you have good management skills, I think success would have been impossible without that capital and trainee pool.
  15. You were trying to hit Hive in the back when you only had 20%?
  16. Just throw away New Jeans and make something else. They are all puppets anyway. Without Min Hee-jin, there is nothing.
  17. Min Hee-jin really has great ambition. No, it's already doing well and a significant part of its success is Hybee's capital, so why scrape it to pieces?
  18. New Jeans' name is New + Minhee 'Jin'
  19. I think Min Hee-jin will do well if she goes out, so all she has to do is go out, rather than trying to do tricks and get caught lol.
  20. You're blinded by money...
  21. Could it be New Jeans without Min Hee-jin?
  22. Looks suspicious because there is a FIfty Fifty case.
  23. Wow, I really don’t like Hive and Bang Si-hyuk, but I’m surprised that there are comments praising Min Hee-jin even in articles like this..
  24. This is a legendary backstab, lol. A lot of the initial support for NewJeans came from other HYBE stans being welcoming, they benefited from the trickle-down effect from senior groups, the capital was entirely from HYBE, and even the members were recruited thanks to HYBE. They poached trainees from Source Music, and they're still acting like this?
  25. Seems like every time someone starts getting big, there's a backstab waiting to happen.
  26. Wow, if it's true, that's some serious greed...
  27. Is it even possible to act like that when their key member, Minji, was brought over from Source Music?
  28. Wow, if the original post is true, HYBE nearly got backstabbed. I do think Min Hee-jin has the creativity to succeed with a girl group, but it's undeniable that HYBE's capital and fanbase helped them achieve success in a relatively short time. Why resort to something like this? If they leave, they should leave NewJeans behind and start from scratch.
  29. HYBE's capital and the fact that the members came from a HYBE-affiliated label—doesn't that say it all?
  30. Seriously, that's too much. ADOR isn't some independent label; it's one that HYBE created.
  31. They totally benefited from the BTS trickle-down effect, and now they act like this, lol.
  32. If they think they can make it on their own, they could just sell their 20% to HYBE and leave. Instead of plotting to backstab HYBE, they should realize NewJeans obviously can't leave with them.
  33. HYBE takes on the risk, but I'll reap the benefits—that's the mindset, huh? Min Hee-jin's buzz came from her connection with HYBE. Even people more famous than her in the entertainment industry can disappear without a trace in this business.
  34. How is this any different from the Fifty Fifty situation? In that case, the company invested everything, but some middleman tried to take advantage.
  35. Regardless of hier ability, she is acting like a brat... No matter how capable you are, it would have been difficult to achieve results without capital and a platform.
  36. But HYBE owns 80% of the shares, so how can it become independent...?
  37. Seriously, this is the end of greed. Haha. What are you doing? You're a label using other people's money, so you took trainees who are assets from other labels, created a team, and then tried to spin it off, wow.
  38. No matter how good your abilities are, isn't it because you are supported by capital that you can achieve your full goals...? It's really fucking too much
  39. Did you ask the opinions of New Jeans members and their parents?
  40. Ah, the concept of New Jeans is so good for the first time in a while. Oh please γ…œdon't do this γ…œMin Hee-jin, come to your senses
  41. Just by watching her do interviews, she seems overly self-conscious, as if she did it all on her own, tsk tsk
  42. If this was going to be the case, they should have established a small agency from the beginning, gathered trainees, and started from the bottom.
