Actor Go Kyung-pyo is set to become Park Shin-hye’s romantic interest.
According to an entertainment industry insider on the 23rd, Go Kyung-pyo will star as the male lead in the drama “Miss Undercover Boss.”
Set just before the 1997 IMF financial crisis, the drama is a turn-of-the-century office comedy. It tells the story of Hong Geum-bo (played by Park Shin-hye), a 35-year-old elite financial supervisor known for her no-nonsense personality, who goes undercover as a 20-year-old high school graduate working as a low-level employee at a Yeouido securities firm in order to carry out a covert operation.
Go Kyung-pyo will play Shin Jung-woo, a corporate raider with hidden dark ambitions who returns to Yeouido as the newly appointed CEO of Hanmin Securities. Known unofficially as Yeouido’s “cold-hearted handsome guy,” it will be interesting to see how his character connects with Park Shin-hye’s role.
Go Kyung-pyo has previously shown a clean-cut image, playing an announcer in “No Secrets” and a judge in “Love in Contract.” Viewers are now anticipating his performance in the high-stakes world of finance.
“Miss Undercover Boss” will be directed by Park Seon-ho, who previously directed “Business Proposal” and “Drunken Romance,” and written by Moon Hyun-kyung, known for “Into the Ring.” The drama is scheduled to air on tvN.
