- Maybe it's a visa issue...? Or maybe not.
- REPLY to 1 -> That concert is in August, so they probably haven’t decided on the visa yet.
- Oh my gosh.
- Why though??
- Looks like visas are difficult.
- Huh? After just two days?
- The content of the post doesn’t feel like a visa issue. Could it be because of the racism controversy back then?
- Seems like there's a schedule conflict with the tour.
- REPLY to 8 -> Their first tour ends in mid-July with the Seoul encore.
- Probably because of the racism against Black people….
- REPLY to 10 ->But they apologized for that, didn’t they?
- Is it really because of the Black issue? Their image must've completely tanked.
- Whoa.
- The racist incident was a huge mess.
- The word “anymore” sounds weird...
- From the way it's quoted, it looks like when the news of their participation came out, there were even threats being posted... Regardless, considering safety, it's probably the right call not to go.
- Seems like public opinion still hasn’t improved because of that issue.
- This is why focusing too much on international fandom isn’t always good—especially Western fandoms.
- REPLY to 18 -> Even if they apologized, isn’t it like when far-right people apologize and it’s still not accepted?
- Looks like there was a backlash because of the Black issue last time...
- Looks like the quotes were full of hate.
- That bad...?
- Ah, that controversy?
- It wasn’t just one racial controversy with KIOF. The recent one involving the Black community was especially bad—there were too many discriminatory elements for it to be excused as unintentional. It wasn't something you could just dismiss as a foreigner misunderstanding.
- If the quotes were full of negative reactions, it's understandable to worry about safety—especially in a country where people can carry guns. Who knows what might happen.
- Foreigners mentioning and quoting things shows it’s not a visa issue—definitely because of that incident.
- The poor handling of the aftermath made things worse. It's going to be hard to recover for a while.
- Of course people would be upset. How is this a “foreigner issue”?
- At first, only the company posted an apology, which didn’t go over well. Then one of the members posted a selfie right after, which made things worse.
- International K-pop fans are more sensitive to racism than to sex scandals (not being sarcastic, that’s really how it is). Sometimes even things that aren’t considered racism in Korea get a ton of backlash. But the last incident can’t be brushed off as ignorance—that’s probably why people keep bringing it up. KIOF had a decent international listener base too, so why did they do that...
- The backlash seems even worse than expected... What now?
- The response back then was just too...
- Can racism issues with foreigners be brushed off so easily? Even we haven’t moved on from Okyere’s case.
- We’re sensitive to racism too, but obviously they’d be angry as well.
- I thought things were handled well when a good apology was finally posted at the end.
- REPLY TO 35 -> It wasn’t written well, so it backfired ㅜ
- Even the member's apology didn’t help recover the situation.
- Because of that racism controversy?
- I’m genuinely curious—how was the apology written that it made people angrier? And what would’ve been a proper example?
- Huh..?
- What happened with the apology?
- It’s good to be sensitive to racism, but it’s kind of funny how no one gets angry over school violence allegations.
- Suddenly?
- Is that racism controversy still not settled?
