Why YG remains the same while JYP stock rises 50 times

JYP rises 50 times, but
YG is quiet... Why is YG stock the same
even though Blackpink is on a world tour ?

YG, yeah, it's good. There's Big Bang and Blackpink too. But Big Bang keeps getting into trouble... And there's no mega-star to follow them. they make a profit, but the risk is too high.

On the contrary, JYP is not just a one-hit wonder with TWICE, and their junior groups are also doing well consistently. Moreover, the time between album releases within JYP is relatively short, which diversifies their sources of income and ensures stability.

During the time when Big Bang was at its peak, they represented rebellion, freedom, edginess, and hip-hop culture☆

In the past, YG was synonymous with hip-hop and coolness, but with the proliferation of shows like "Show Me the Money" and excessive commercialization, hip-hop lost its appeal over time, and it's no longer as cool as it used to be.

Ethical risks can significantly impact the value of a group or a company, and in many ways, YG has faced challenges in this regard...

THE COMMENTS;

1. Because I don't want to defend organized crime.

2. The risk arising from controversies is indeed significant, but for YG, the biggest problem seems to be the lengthy gaps between album releases. Even when Big Bang was active, they didn't release albums frequently, but whether it was Big Bang or G-Dragon, someone from YG used to release something every year. However, after the issues with Big Bang, it seems like other groups are not working much, to the point where fans wonder when they will make a comeback.

3. YG should have collapsed a long time ago.. haha

4. From the perspective of the public, it's a common observation that YG Entertainment's idols and celebrities have been consistently involved in social controversies, and it's challenging to see them in a positive light. This is indeed a reality that YG has been facing in recent years.

5. JYP has also had some issues, but they're nothing compared to what's been happening at YG. For example, JYP's top executives haven't been under investigation for criminal charges for years, their artists haven't been involved in serious crimes, they haven't had multiple drug scandals, and they certainly haven't had K-pop stars appearing in strip shows or similar controversial activities.
Additionally, it's worth mentioning that companies like SM and JYP have appointed well-established artists like Kangta, BoA, and 2PM members to executive positions, which I personally think is a great move. It can serve as motivation and guidance for younger artists. On the other hand, YG has recently seen the departure of G-Dragon, which is a significant loss and makes comparisons between the companies even more unfavorable for YG.

6. Burning Sun's impact is too big for me...

7. Big Bang and Blackpink have indeed exploded in popularity to a historic level, but it seems risky to be overly dependent on just one or two groups. However, there is no guarantee that the next group will achieve the same level of success.

8. Big Bang's T.O.P and G-Dragon with drug issues, Seungri with the Burning Sun scandal, Yang Hyun-suk too, haha. iKON's former member B.I with a drug scandal, haha.

9. Other entertainment companies may also have their share of troubled celebrities, but when it comes to YG, it's often associated with the Burning Sun scandal and drug issues... Frankly, the company's image doesn't seem great, and its future prospects don't look promising either.

10. I've heard people say that Big Hit Entertainment has a big risk because they only have BTS, but what about a company that only has Blackpink?

11. I understand that controversies can happen, but it seems like when an artist has even a slight deviation in their image, they end up having several years of hiatus. It feels like the management company isn't handling their role effectively.

12. I honestly don't care much about ethics, but when other companies have comebacks overlapping, think about how it was here. It's just that the activities are too infrequent, it doesn't bring in much money, and the vision is unclear, that's all.

13. Rather than ethics, the real issue seems to be YG's inability to groom a large-scale successor group to follow in the footsteps of Big Bang and Blackpink. Honestly, all this talk about ethics can be subjective; even without BTS-level success, if YG had at least one more large-scale group like Stray Kids or Seventeen, the difference might not have been so significant.

14. Compared to companies like HYBE and SM, JYP may seem weaker, but they have a solid foundation by streamlining businesses outside of entertainment. JYP has successfully transitioned its focus to cash cows like 2PM, Twice, and Stray Kids. They also have other ventures like ENMIX and Day6, which is steadily building its listener base. It gives a sense of balance and stability, which YG doesn't seem to have.

15. If they had focused more on their main activities, wouldn't it have made a difference if Blackpink released a regular album once a year and some singles or mini-albums in between?

16. No matter what we talk about, should we just focus on Burning Sun? And there's no one to follow Blackpink.

17. It's doubtful whether YG can maintain that scale of a building if Blackpink leaves. Apart from AKMU, there aren't any artists I really like.

18. Burning Sun is a real crime, just hearing the name is disgusting.

19. In JYP, the rookies have grown up well and become cash cows, and the headquarters system has been established and there are no strange businesses. Of course, the gap is bound to widen.

20. They say there is no such thing as a clean entertainment company, but YG is on a different level. Seriously, YG seems to be deeply connected to people in the political world, which is creepy.
